A Great Driving Day

We had breakfast with Gary (Greg's brother) and Linda and had a little time to catch up. We left at about 8 a.m. - the temperature was in the low 20s. Even though the motor home has a heater, there is so much space to heat up, it can be really cold driving at that temperature. Last year when Greg drove to Florida by himself, he discovered if he put up the "privacy curtain," it helped keep the heat in the cab. We did that and we were plenty warm.

Outside, there was plenty of snow, but the roads were dry and clear. Our route took us south through Iowa into Missouri and then we traveled east thru St. Louis, MO and into southern Illinois. By 5:00 p.m., there was no snow on the ground. The driving has been easy and we've enjoyed talking and reading. We're planning to drive as long as we can - probably until about 11:00 p.m. - and then stop at a road side rest to catch a little sleep. It's been a good day.
